I have to say that I would agree with the #1 on that list. I saw them play a N.C. 4AA (big school) playoff team last year. They started off a little slow, but by games end I felt they were the best 1A team that I have ever seen.

GC put them out in the state semi's. Gretna isn't playing the NC school anymore they are now playing Graham at Graham on a Saturday this year. I don't understand a lot with that poll. To me Clintwood has to be in the top 5, I don't agree with GW being as high as they are either. They lost a ton, and imo Floyd County might have the best team in Region C and they aren't even mentioned.

That is a joke. You have a team that lost in the state finals,returns the whole lot,and they aren't even a top 10 team? Clintwood will be serving the nimrods at VAPreps some crow this year (by then they will have digested the helping that the TRIBE shoved down their gullets yesterday)

It's a poll...who really cares who is #1 to start out...it ain't college and every team controls it's own destiny when week 1 rolls around.

Something to talk about til the season starts. I do agree that CW should be ranked in the top 10. I'm shocked PV got any votes, more of a name thing than anything else imo. FWIW, I don't think there is a D2 team in Region D that is worthy of a top 15 spot at this point.

For nearly 13 years straight Lunenburg Central started the year #1....they ended up with 3 titles during that time. Being at the top is a sign of a quality program, but the only thing that matters is game 14.
